Royal city of Cracow
Cracow is the cultural heart of Poland. Discover the old town with many cellar bars, museums, churches and historic buildings.
The Wawel
It is the most famous Cracow relic and one of the biggest Polish castles. Wawel Hill with Castle and Cathedral, which is overlooked above the city, from hundreds years is the symbol of national strength and pride. For few centuries Wawel was seat of kings and former centre of Polish capital. The Royal Castle has been rebuild many times, today it is possible to find parts in Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. The museum possess a huge collection of royal insignia, armour, castle equipment and other treasures. The Cathedral, with the most famous Polish bell - Zygmunt, is the beautiful church with many chapels and sarcophaguses, where were planted some of Polish kings and famous Poles.
The Main Market Square
The biggest city square in Europe, former and present centre of Cracow. It is occasion to spend here wonderful time, walk and admire beautiful relics, visit a museum, feed Cracow pigeons or just come in to one of a many café. Only here you can feel unusual atmosphere and find spirit of a history. At the Main Market Square and close to it is located rest of Cracow symbols: Barbican, Florianska Gate, Cloth Hall, Town Hall, St. Mary's Basilica and Jagiellonian University.
Kazimierz
It is the former Jewish district of Cracow, through over 5 hundred years presence of Jews it has taken extraordinary character, that is enjoyed by tourists and artists, that very liking this magic place. There are many beautiful streets, alleys and relics connected with Jewish culture (synagogues, cemeteries).
The Lady with an Ermine of Leonardo da Vinci
The painting is unsigned, but the painting technique from the hand and an unintentional finger print from the master ensure that the painting was painted from Leonardo da Vinci. You can admire this unique painting at the Czartoryski Museum. Cracow as one of only five places in the world possess painting of this great artist.
